I am a 59 year old male. I presently work in the trucking industry in a non-driving capacity. I was Fleet Manager for some time till my company moved the dispatch function back to the home office.
In a former career I was an AMMO troop in the U.S. Air Force. I spent 26 and a half years in this pursuit. Beyond doubt this has been the highlight of my working career so far.
Politically I claim to be an independent. At the moment I lean Democratic. I think the Republicans have lost their minds and their political sense of direction. The word “pragmatic” keeps rolling around my head and I’d like to think that enters into my thought process in determining the choices I make. Another thought I have is that the praticality of an idea or poltical plan is not the sole criterion I use to make a decision on an issue. I like to think that principle also plays a role in my decision making. And probably a belief I hold to be true casts me more into the Democratic camp than the Republican is best expressed as follows: The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much, it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little. -Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd US President (1882-1945)
Government is organized to provide for our mutual security and to provide for our common welfare. Just a few of my rambling thoughts.
